In normal conditions it is not necessary to mount the zinc anode on the Isotherm SP through hull fitting.

But if there is any reason to suspect that there could be a risk of galvanic corrosion aboard, or when

the boat is in warm and “aggressive” waters, the sacrifi cial zinc anode should be fi tted. It is strongly

recommended to mount it when the Isotherm SP is fi rst installed. Should there be considerable attack

and material loss of the anode during a season, the reason for this must be found. The electrical

system aboard must be carefully checked to fi nd the reason of the galvanic leak current.

If there is no attack and the anode looks good after a season, the through hull fi tting could be left

without the anode if that is for some reason preferred. But the zinc anode installed is always a good

indicator telling if everything is under control.
